DO NORTH STORM® WATERPROOF DRY BAGS FLOAT?

SHORT ANSWER - YES THEY SURE DO

Each of our North Storm® waterproof roll top bags float when closed with the roll and seal method.

To seal our dry bag, simply roll the top downwards 3 – 4 times then clip the ends together.

By rolling it closed, you seal out water and trap air inside.

It’s very effective for keeping your gear nice and dry, even if it does happen to go in water for any reason.

TIPS

Tip no.1 – If you want your bag to float because you might want to tow it behind you swimming or you may feel it is at risk of going in the drink on a rough day at sea.

Just remember when sealing your North Storm waterproof roll top bag, make sure you don’t expel all the air.

More air = More buoyancy.

Tip no. 2 – Do not overfill your waterproof roll top bag.

Again, the more air you can trap inside the bag, the better the buoyancy will be if your bag happens to go overboard or you capsize.

If you capsize, the bag will float and is easily retrieved.

Plus your gear is kept dry.

Tip no. 3 – We recommend you roll your dry bag or backpack at least 3 to 4 times if you think there may be a risk of your bag going into the drink!

Tip no. 4 – You will need a dry bag in more situations than you plan for.

THE MANY BENEFITS OF ROLL TOP CLOSURE SYSTEMS

When it comes to choosing the right closure system for your outdoor adventures, you can't go wrong with a roll top.

Let's look at the benefits between a roll top closure system and a zipper closure system when it comes to waterproof bags.

Roll top closure systems are not only more durable and long-lasting than their zipper counterparts, but they also create a tighter, more waterproof seal.

This is perfect for when you're boating, fishing, kayaking, or paddling.

Here's a closer look at all the benefits roll top closure systems have to offer.

DURABILITY

One of the biggest advantages of roll top closure systems is their superior durability.

Zipper closures are prone to breaking, especially when they're constantly exposed to water and sand.

Roll top closures, on the other hand, are made from tough, flexible materials that can withstand years of abuse.

Not to mention, they're also much less likely to get clogged or stuck than zipper closures.

IMPROVED WATERPROOFING

Another big benefit of roll top closure systems is their improved waterproofing capabilities.

When closed properly, roll tops create a tight seal that keeps water out - unlike zippers, which tend to let water seep in.

This is especially beneficial for activities like kayaking and fishing, where you need to be sure your belongings will stay dry no matter what.

EASE OF USE

Last but not least, roll top closure systems are simply easier to use than zippers.

Zippers can be difficult to open and close, especially when they're wet or sandy.

Roll tops, on the other hand, can be opened and closed with one hand in just a few seconds.

Plus, they're much less likely to jam or break than zippers—another big plus in our book!

If you're looking for a closure system that's durable, long-lasting, and easy to use, look no further than the roll top.

Thanks to its superior construction and improved waterproofing capabilities, the roll top is the perfect choice for any adventurer – no matter where your travels take you.
