You can watch the whole YouTube clip here or read the transcript below.

Well, you’re probably not, I don’t know.

But how do I keep all my stuff dry when I go walking down the creeks?

Go in the bush, pissing down raining and well, I get to some weird places.

Today I’m going to review a bag that I’ve been using for quite a while now.

So, I feel like I can give a good handle on this review and North Storm® bags, guys let’s get into it.

MY PROCESS OF PICKING THIS BAG

I’m a bit dark there, here we go fix me up let me just put this down here.

North Storm® bags are a local Australian company that are making these adventure bags.

I’ll get to more of it in a minute.

So, I’ve got the 30-litre version.

Let me tell you my process of picking this bag.

I was looking for the perfect bag.

Now, I’m not being biassed, I’m not sponsored by them, I’m not like affiliated with them in any way whatsoever they literally, I just found it by chance to be honest.

I was just searching my web ‘the web’ for like months and I mean months!

I was looking for a bag that was:

  • I could use it for fishing
  • store my camera gear
  • it needed to be waterproof – it just needed.

I NEEDED IT TO BE WATERTIGHT, I NEEDED IT TO BE DUSTPROOF I NEEDED IT TO BE EVERYTHING

So, like if I was in the rain or like going up a creek somewhere, even on the beach, get sand.

Like it just needed it to be tight, I needed it to be watertight.

I needed it to be dust-proof, I needed it to be everything.

Because I can individually wrap my camera, drone, all that sort of business anyway.

What I was looking for was this perfect bag that didn’t exist.

Until, I when I usually research something or want to buy something.

I go into this hyper focus mode where all I can do is just think about this product until I get one.

It does consume a lot of my life, but it just I just because you spend money on this sort of stuff, and you need it to be good and you need it to last the test of time.

Just by chance I was just, I don’t know I can’t even remember how I actually found them, but they just came up.

North Storm® bags and I researched it there was a few little reviews on there but there’s not that many reviews online, so I thought I’d make this one.

Right’o let’s dig in, oh my hat is going all funny, that’s because I’m sweating.

All right so with this thing.

This is the 30-litre backpack now, this is just what I needed.

Obviously, they’ve got a 60-litre and a 20-litre waterproof bag.

On the website right now, this is $139.95 so you can pretty much say $140.00.

A man wearing sunglasses looking rested walking on beach wearing his North Storm 30 Litre backpack.

I’VE WORN THIS THING IN SO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES

It has a dunk rating of ip66.

Now what they mean by dunk rating is, if you’ve got all your stuff in there you can grab it pull it under water and pull it out.

So, pretty much waterproof, if you – as long as you close everything properly, you shouldn’t have a drama.

This thing is so waterproof and watertight.

It does have outside pockets now they have an ip rating of 65.

Which is probably as good as your phone cases, I guess.

I just don’t trust it, I’m just, it’s not about the bag design itself that’s just me.

It’s very hard to try and keep something, it’s got to be full watertight especially where the places that I go.

It’s got three little hooks on the side on the front, three little rings here so you can hang key-rings, cavaliers, knives and stuff off it.

It’s got two big deep pockets on the side. It’s made out of 500d pvc tarpaulin.

YOU CAN USE IT REALLY FOR ANYTHING

So, this thing it I guess it feels really plasticky / rubbery.

But it’s just – it is high quality, double stitched all inside like uh the back of the backpack itself it’s got heaps of places to hold anything that you need to just carry off you like a belt, I guess.

It’s also got a little pocket in the back.

Let me just show you that a little pocket in the back so you can hide your phone in there if you want.

Now it does have these pads on the back which makes it a breeze and so nice and comfortable to carry.

Even when you fully load this thing up the straps themselves are real comfortable as well.

This thing, I’ve worn this thing in so many different places and in so many different situations, and I’ve never had to feel like my gear was jeopardised.

Because obviously I use this as a camera bag now a lot.

You can use it really for anything it’s great for adventures so… now we’ve got the specs out away let’s just go with some pros and cons.

A man looking serious on a clear day wearing his North Storm 30 litre backpack.

PRO’S AND CON’S – LET’S START WITH THE CONS

Now I’m gonna do the naughty thing first and go through some of the cons.

I don’t really have many, but it’s more not the cons themselves aren’t really about the product itself.

It’s more of the way that you handle the product I guess, so.

Being that this thing is made out of pretty much a tarp and if you’ve got important gear in there like I do with camera gear and stuff.

This thing heats up in direct sunlight.

Like I mean gets really, really, really hot and it’s something to be mindful of.

Like if you do what I do and carry some electrical items in there just make sure that you put this in a shady spot because this thing will heat up.

IF YOU MAKE A 2.0 VERSION OF THIS

Now, another con but I think it’s just me being nick picky so… guys from North Storm®.

If you make a 2.0 version of this, do everything the same, just add a spot in the back where you can put a camelback bladder.

And I think this bag would just be absolutely banger!

Because you’re carrying it everywhere and it’d just be good that you could fit the camelbak bladder and have a little bit of water and you’d be set.

You’d really be set.

This thing would actually be so good to just go hike with, and you can fit so much stuff in.

IT’S DEFINITELY THE ADVENTURE BAG

I fit a couple of days’ worth of clothes, towels, toiletries, everything or I can fit nearly all my camera gear in this bag.

It’s definitely THE adventure bag I think personally.

And I've used this thing, taken it fishing, taken it 4-wheel driving, taken it for bushwalks, taken it hiking, like I’ve done a lot with this bag, and I don’t have one complaint about it.

Only the fact that I wish it had a camelbak pouch in the back. Because that would just set it off.

I’d take this absolutely everywhere, knowing that I could carry some water with me.

THAT’S WHY I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE NORTH STORM® BAG

So, my final thoughts for the bag guys, mate, for how much you pay for it, the quality of it and what you get out of it.

I think it’s a no-brainer, if you guys need a waterproof backpack that you can take fishing, hiking, camping, whatever.

I definitely think this is the bag for you! I highly recommend this bag and I’m not just saying this again, I’m not just saying this.

Because I’ve used this for over a year now, and it’s just that none of the stitching has come out, none of like, nothing has broken.

The clips haven’t corroded.

Like everything is still as good as the day I bought it and that’s why I would definitely recommend the North Storm® bag.
