Introducing the ‘Ford Rangerettes Official’ or as they are known for short in the 4×4 community as ‘FRO4x4’.
Ford Rangerettes Official group are a dynamic and supportive group of women who just love their Ford Rangers and Raptors.
The aim of the group was created to provide a safe space for women who not only own Ranger and Raptors but any 4 wheel drive.
They have created a safe space online to empower these drivers by allowing them to ask questions regarding their vehicle's mechanics without fear of judgement.
Founder Jane Cartwright and her business partner Antoinette Truswell run this successful and vibrant members group on Facebook and Instagram.
The group is coming up to its fourth year (2022) and now boasts a membership of over 3000 women.

HOW DID ‘FORD RANGERETTES OFFICIAL’ START AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF JOINING?
Jane & Antoinette: We wanted to empower women in the 4 wheel drive scene by providing a safe space to ask mechanical questions.
This is a space for women to learn how to troubleshoot any issues that may happen themselves on and off road.
Our members walk each other through aftermarket fitment of everything from catch cans to canopies.
We have monthly guests (male and female) who are invited into Ford Rangerettes Official facebook group to talk about their products.
Ford Rangerettes Official make every effort that we can to support small Australian businesses or Australian made products.
We partner up with 4×4 businesses across Australia, run ladies mechanical workshop days and plan weekend activities.
Our Ford Rangerettes Official group has a real community vibe!.
WOMEN’S 4×4 GROUPS ARE THRIVING ON SOCIAL MEDIA. WHAT MAKES FORD RANGERETTES OFFICIAL STAND OUT FROM THE OTHERS?
Jane & Antoinette: Ford Rangerettes Official isn’t only a women’s social group.
We want to see more women actively involved in the direction of the 4×4 industry in Australia.
We currently have many legislation inconsistencies across the country, and trying to interpret what is legal or not legal can be confusing.
Vehicle modification legislation, regulations, standards and processes are not the same across all State and Territory Governments.
These inconsistencies are a constant cause of frustration to motorists when crossing borders.
IS FORD RANGERETTES OFFICIAL AN EXCLUSIVE GROUP TO AUSTRALIANS? AND IS IT ONLY FOR THE GALS?
Jane & Antoinette: Ford Rangerettes Official started out as an Australian Ford Ranger / Raptor group.
However women in other countries started discovering us on Facebook and Instagram and asked to join.
So we have welcomed new members from Canada, USA, UK, Switzerland, Costa Rica, New Zealand and Asia so far.
We are a female only group, however all of our activities are community inclusive.
And the FRO families love catching up on our adventures and weekend events as much as we do!
WHAT THINGS DO FORD RANGERETTES OFFICIAL GET UP TO AS A GROUP?
Jane & Antoinette: We are fortunate to have such a diverse range of interests within our members group.
Obviously off roading is a common thread, however, many of us participate in breakaway groups for activities.
These break away groups Ford Rangerettes Official have created include - horse-riding, fishing, motorbiking and camping to name a few.
A key factor that binds Ford Rangerettes Official, is our strong sense of community.
We love getting behind charity events and raising funds for causes that affect our members and their loved ones.
Ford Rangerettes Official have regular catch ups in each State and Territory and there is always a FRO4x4 member nearby to lend a hand.
We do love attending 4×4 OPEN DAYS and giving support back to those businesses who support women in the 4×4 scene.
WHAT DO YOU USE YOUR NORTH STORM GEAR FOR?
Jane: Everything! I’d been searching for the perfect backpack for some time and was very excited to discover the North Storm range was adaptable to our extreme climates.
Having a durable waterproof bag with good back support was not something I was willing to compromise
Another FRO4x4 member had purchased some duffel bags and as soon as I saw them I was in love
So, I also decided to grab a 60L waterproof duffel bag and a 20L waterproof dry bag.
Now this little gem (the 20L) has become my 4×4 and fishing bag.
It literally comes everywhere with me!
It keeps all my gear dry and on the way home and keeps all my wet muddy gear contained.
I love the fact that these bags can be easily hosed out.
I’ve even used the 20L bag as an emergency beer esky!
These bags are both affordable and multipurpose.
They really do make the perfect gift and suit me to a tee!
Antoinette: I just love my North Storm 60L duffel bags!
My husband and I take them camping alot.
In addition, the wide opening makes the bags so easy to pack and find what you’re looking for.
The best part is having dry clothes on extended trips when the weather turns bad.
There is nothing worse than damp or wet camping clothes!
