NORTH STORM® AMBASSADOR LANCE MORGAN
Lance, his wife Katie and son – Phoenix, are Cronulla locals, living on the picturesque Sutherland Shire.
Packed with Surf beaches and pristine waterways it’s the perfect location for Lance to raise a family.
Lance’s younger years were spent exploring WWII wrecks and fishing from dugout canoes in the Solomon Islands.
It was here that he developed his passion for the ocean, wildlife and nature.
At the age of 12 Lance moved to the Gold Coast where his ocean adventures continued.
When Lance reached his early 20’s he picked up his first camera.
Lance said that this seemed like a natural progression.
As he would always see things in the ocean that he loved and wanted others to have the same experiences.
In 2019 Lance achieved a massive goal of his, by successfully completing his training and becoming an Aviation Firefighter.
He says that this role has taught him so much and also allowed time to pursue his love for photography and raising my family.
Lance has lots of exciting plans moving into the future and he invites you all to come along for the ride.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?
Outside of ocean photography I am first and foremost a father and husband.
I try to tie in as many outdoor activities as possible with my family life.
I love to go camping and exploring new areas, my speargun is always packed along with the beach umbrella.
If the ocean isn’t looking too great I’ll head inland and try to find some off the beaten track waterfalls or maybe scratch around in the dirt for crystals.
WHO IS YOUR IDOL, HERO? WHO INSPIRES YOU THE MOST?
That’s a tough question, there are so many amazing people in the world.
I guess a few of the photographers that come to mind are: Chris Burkard, Warren Keelan, Phil Thurston, Darren Jew and Rambo Estrada.
I admire anyone who actively stands up for the environment, people you can check out are: Sylvia Earle, Paul Nicklen, Julia Wheeler, Steve Winter, Antony Caere and of course David Attenborough.
But this list could go on forever!
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN AUSTRALIA WHERE WOULD YOU GO? AND WHY?
I have so many places in this amazing country that I have visited.
These are my top ones: Ningaloo Reef, Rowley Shoals, Lady Elliot and the Southern Barrier Reef by yacht, Lord Howe and the backcountry Kosciuszko.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU EACH AND EVERY DAY?
I am so lucky to live by the ocean, waking up and seeing the sun rising on the water is probably my biggest inspiration.
We really are so lucky to live in this amazing country!
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR LIFETIME? GOALS?
Just to help inform people on the struggles our ecosystem is facing and hopefully promote change.
WHAT DO YOU USE YOUR NORTH STORM® GEAR FOR?
Exploration! Whether it’s on the ocean or land, my North Storm waterproof backpack is the perfect bag to keep my stuff dry or keep my wet items contained.
The size of my backpack is a perfect fit for my water housing with its largest port attached, a wetsuit, towel, snacks and other items.
This enables me to strap my gear to my back for a hike into remote locations or have it all secured as we chase swells on the back of a jet ski.
