NORTH STORM® AMBASSADOR TIMMY TURTLE
Tim Stenlake better known to most in Australia as ‘Timmy Turtle’.
In 2016 Tim started filming his fishing trips in local creeks, rivers and canals around the Southern Gold Coast / Northern NSW area.
Tim now showcases his amazing videos of his boating and fishing adventures on YouTube.
Timmy Turtle is an avid fisherman, hunter and genuine outdoorsman.
He is a self-taught fisherman and adventurer who lives and travels Australia on the road with his dog and legendary sidekick – ‘Millie’.
Tim started out with a goal to show people you do not need a lot of money to have a great time out on the water and live an interesting, full and adventurous life!
When Tim began his adventures he had built his own custom skiffs.
He now gives plans away freely to help others build affordable watercraft to take out and enjoy the outdoors and fishing lifestyle.
A few years back, Tim made headline news when he took it upon himself to clear abandoned crab pots from Beelbi Creek near Hervey Bay in Queensland.
These pots were damaging to the local waterways and marine life.
He has certainly set a great example for others to follow.
Over the years we have and do enjoy watching Tim grow as a fisherman and share his triumphs and travels with us on the socials and YouTube channel.
He is an inspiration to those with a dream to quit their day job and live the life they choose.
Tim certainly works hard and plays hard, we are just so stoked and honoured to have him on our team!

DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF FISHING AND CAMPING?
Apart from fishing and camping I recently got into hunting and will probably pursue that more. I also enjoy filming and editing.
WHO IS YOUR IDOL, HERO? WHO INSPIRES YOU THE MOST?
I don't really have a particular person but honestly anyone who dedicates their life to something and pushes through to become successful inspires me – it doesn’t matter what field.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN AUSTRALIA WHERE WOULD YOU GO? AND WHY?
If I could go anywhere I would love to make it to Arnhem Land.
Heard it is absolutely amazing up there for fishing and hunting and is pretty much untouched.
Most things there are done by traditional methods and I would love to learn everything I can.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU EACH AND EVERY DAY?
What motivates me is having a goal to own my own massive property in a good location that I can come back to when I’m not travelling.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR LIFETIME? GOALS?
I want to one day raise good kids and teach them everything I have and will learn on my journey.
WHAT DO YOU USE YOUR NORTH STORM® GEAR FOR?
I use my North Storm® waterproof backpack for storing camera gear and fishing tackle in.
It’s my go to bag while fishing off the rocks, up creeks or in boats.
